EARLY YEARS PROFESSIONAL

The Children’s Workforce Development Council was set up in 2005 to support the implementation of Every Child Matters, a new approach to the well-being of children and young people from birth to age 19.

The government's aim - through the Every Child Matters programme - is for every child to have the support they need to:be healthystay safeenjoy and achievemake a positive contributionachieve economic well-being.The CWDC's vision is for the early years workforce to be led by well-skilled and highly motivated graduates.Early Years Professionals (EYPs) are these graduate leaders.

The Government’s aim is for every nursery to have a graduate leader by 2010.You can find out more about Early Years Professional Status here
